Basic of e-NTU and LMDT methods for heat exchangers. Boiling and condensation heat transfer. Cooling cycle as inverse Rankine. Different kind of compressors used. Principle of control technique. Properties and environmental problems of refrigerants. Trithermal inverse cycles. Air cycles; Brayton and humid air. Heat pumps; heat transformer. HP and coolers used in different plants. Secondary loop and fluid, ice-slurries. Thermal storage. Different way to cool; vortex tube, thermoacustics, magnetocaloric. Schematic of cryogenic and Liquefied Natural Gas plants.
