1. The mechanical design
2. The technical specification
3. The reference standard
Learning Objectives - Last names A-L
The objective is to provide the student with the elements to carry out a project of a simple mechanical system, putting into practice the skills learned in the teaching of Machine Construction and achieving the following transversal skills:
CT1 - Technical communication in written form (drafting of individual reports and reports)
CT2 - Group work in a coordinated mode
CT3 - Development of a suitable expression and technical discussion of its arguments
CT4 - Graphic representation and communication (drafting of diagrams, graphs and tables)
CT5 - Understanding of technical standards
CT6 - Conducting bibliographic searches using the main resources (libraries, scientific databases, etc.)
CT7 - Respect commitments and times
CT8 - Communication through presentations and web systems
Teaching Methods - Last names A-L
The course includes a first series of lectures and then weekly meetings for the discussion of projects.
Type of Assessment - Last names A-L
Laboratories with working groups (usually of two students but sometimes 3 or 1). Weekly review of the project is voluntary (the teacher is available but it is not mandatory for students to review every week). The final exam consists of an oral exam with discussion of the project developed. The student must be able to develop the design of a machine or a mechanical group, starting from the definition of the technical specification, passing through the development of one or more ideas, and arriving at the development of a constructive design (overall and table), all completed by the main checks of resistance. The questions asked during the final test are also aimed at ascertaining the achievement, at least at a good level, of the skills reported in the training objectives.
