The aim of the course is to provide the students with the basic concepts of motorcycle dynamics, the principle of operation and the main types of suspensions for motorcycles, the steering system, crash behavior of motorcycles, active safety systems.
The in-depth knowledge of the theoretical-scientific aspects of engineering, both in general and in-depth with respect to those of vehicle engineering, in which they are able to identify, formulate and solve, even in an innovative way, complex problems or those requiring a interdisciplinary approach. The ability to understand a multidisciplinary context in the engineering field and to work in a problem solving perspective.
The ability to apply one's own knowledge and understanding to analyze and optimize equipment and mechanical systems of vehicles, as well as to innovate the same also through the development and improvement of design methods, comparing with continuity with the rapid evolution of the scope of mechanical engineering. The adequate ability to understand sources in English. The ability to achieve adequate preparation to access the third level of university studies (attendance at second level master and doctoral schools), in order to further deepen knowledge and skills in the field of research.

Good knowledge of: Machine Design, Mechanics of Vehicles, Construction of Road Vehicles.

Lectures and exercises. Laboratory exercises,. Visits to car/motorcycle pants and R&D centers

The examination consists of an interview on the course topics.

Oral Exam. The questions are aimed at verifying the knowledge of the field of road vehicles by analyzing the structural aspects of the various types of vehicles and verifying the understanding of the engineering context and the interdisciplinary implications that characterize the land vehicle sector.
