dell’energia e saranno in grado di effettuarne un dimensionamento di

Esame orale costituito da domande teoriche volte a verificare la
conoscenza del principio di funzionamento dei convertitori in oggetto e la
capacità di determinare le forme d'onda delle principali grandezze
elettriche ad essi associate.
Programma esteso 1. Componenti semiconduttori di potenza: Caratteristiche statiche,
funzionamento in regime di commutazione, dati caratteristici. (2 ore)
2. Convertitori c.a./c.c.: Raddrizzatore monofase elementare,
raddrizzatore monofase a ponte semi-o interamente controllato,
raddrizzatore trifase a ponte semi-o interamente controllato. Convertitori
bidirezionali. Grandezze deformate: generalità sulle grandezze deformate
e analisi armonica. (16 ore)
3. Convertitori c.c./c.c.: Buck, Boost e Buck-Boost in conduzione continua,
condizione limite che separa il funzionamento in conduzione continua da
quello in conduzione discontinua (10 ore)
4. Regolatori di tensione in c.a.: Regolatori a parzializzazione per circuiti
monofase e trifase. Interruttori a semiconduttori per circuiti in c.a. (2 ore)
5. Convertitori c.c./c.a.: Classificazione. Invertitori a tensione impressa ad
onda quadra: schema monofase, schema trifase, sintesi delle forme
d'onda in uscita, analisi di Fourier. Invertitori PWM: modulazione in
larghezza del singolo impulso, modulazione multipla dell'impulso,
modulazione sinusoidale: tecniche PWM unipolari, bipolari. Intervallo di
funzionamento lineare, fattori di simmetria, gruppi di armoniche,
sovramodulazione. Tecniche PWM trifase con e senza iniezione di
sequenza zero. PWM vettoriale. (16 ore)
6. Convertitori c.a./c.a.: Convertitori diretti. Convertitori di frequenza con
circuito intermedio in c.c. Metodi di regolazione della frequenza e della

Type of Assessment
Intermediate tests just for students attending the course; Oral exam
based on theoretical questions oriented to verify knowledge of the power
converters operation and to verify competences in the management of
the related electrical variables.
Course program
1. Power Semiconductor Devices: Steady-state characteristics. Switching
characteristics. Ratings. (2 hours)
2. AC/DC Converters: Principles of phase-controlled converter operation.
Single-phase rectifier full
controlled. Three-phase full-wave rectifiers. Fourier Analysis of the AC
and DC waveforms. Bidirectional power converters. (16 hours)
3. DC/DC Converters: Buck, Boost and Buck-Boost converters in
continuous and discontinuos conduction operation. (10 hours)
4. AC voltage controllers: single-phase and three-phase controllers.
Electronic switches. (2 hours).
5. DC/AC Converters: Voltage-source single-phase and three-phase bridge
inverters: control signals and
operation for 180° conduction. PWM inverters: sinusoidal modulation. (16
hours)
6. AC/AC Converters: Cycloconverters. Frequency converters with d.c.
link. Frequency and voltage control. (2 hours)
