Course teached as: B028540 - TECNICHE AVANZATE DI PROTEZIONE SISMICA Second Cycle Degree in CIVIL ENGINEERING Curriculum STRUTTURE
Teaching Language
Italian
Course Content
Origin of earthquakes;
- dynamics of SDOF and MDOF systems;
- response spectra;
- linear and non-linear dynamic analysis methods;
- main objectives of base isolation and energy dissipation techniques applications;
- classification and mechanical characteristics of supplemental damping devices and systems;
design methods of supplemental damping devices;
- isolator typologies;
- design methods of base isolation systems.
The course aims to train technicians able to design modern seismic protection systems of base isolation and supplemental energy dissipation.
Teaching Methods
Lessons will be held partly as frontal teaching and partly in the form of exercises
Type of Assessment
The verification of the learning will be carried out through an oral test in which the student will present a paper on the theme of advanced techniques of seismic protection carried out in class under the guidance of the teacher.
