Learning Objectives
To train the student's knowledge at a professional level to make it able to operate independently in the field of energy efficiency, practical applications in the photovoltaic sector and in electronic power converters.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the operating principles of electric motors, linear circuit analysis techniques both in the domain of
time than frequency.
Fundamentals of Financial Mathematics (NPV and IIR)
Further information
Energy efficiency is a current and fascinating topic, often trivialized, but it often requires important investments which need to evaluate both the return and the convenience of supporting on one's own, or with financing through third parties, the charges to achieve savings on invoices energy. This book attempts to shed light on the solutions that can be adopted in the electrical field, and provides tools to evaluate not only in technical terms, but also in financial terms, the effectiveness of an investment. The discussion is based on concrete cases, accompanied by different application examples, introduced by references to the theory necessary for their understanding. The text, originally conceived as a support to the studies of courses on the subject of efficient use of electricity delivered at the School of Engineering of the University of Florence, is also suitable for those who, as energy managers, freelancers, EGE, officials of Public Administrations, find themselves having to evaluate aspects related to improving the efficiency of electric utilities.
